Bird

Strip Art /Dark Horse. All written by Carlos Trillo and drawn by Juan Bobillo.

1 The Tattoo. [From Dark Horse: Jobeth Nightengale Bensen, a beautiful young heiress, has been locked in a brutal asylum by her brother, who wants the family fortune for himself. Brutalized and addicted to drugs as part of her "treatment," Jobeth nonetheless counts the minutes for her chance to escape. When the opportunity comes at last, she flees to New York City, hiding among the lost and forgotten, just another apparent homeless lunatic. On the run from her brother, she reinvents herself by concealing her identity under the name of Bird and drastically changing her appearance, one which catches the eye of the fashion world. Her dramatic look catapults Bird into the dazzling world of the supermodel, but with her face on the covers of magazines, this Bird will not be able to fly for long! Written by Carlos Trillo (Cybersix, Video Noire) and painted by artist Juan Bobillo, Bird: The Tattoo is a tale of greed, beauty, and madness, another essential Venture graphic album, published in a stunning oversized edition in collaboration with Strip Art Features, and available for the first time in an English-language edition!]
2 The Mask. [From Strip Art: A fashion model with a shaved head and Maori tattoos becomes a sensation in New York City. She is Bird, and she’s got a secret. She’s an escaped mental patient, addicted to psychotropic drugs, and on the run for her life. Her one hope is to expose the people who drove her mad before they discover her. A woman pushed to her limits, she uses every part of her being to fight back.]
3 The Face. [From Strip Art: The presumed dead Jobeth Benson -- who now lives as the bald, beautiful model Bird -- seeks revenge on her evil bastard brother Reg. It seems Reg and a Dr. Elzenberg knowingly unleashed a toxic, carcinogenic product onto the unsuspecting market. Reg has tortured, killed or driven insane anyone who was a witness or has gotten in his way. Including his own sister, Jobeth. Meanwhile, Bird's lover, Martin, has been blinded and paralyzed in an “"accident"” also engineered by her brother. Bird believes the only way to truly protect her beloved is to get rid of Reg. As she hunts Reg, he and his henchmen try to track her down. Bird has been haunting Reg's dreams and he needs to eliminate her, once and for all]
