InhumansMarvel Comics. |
| The Inhumans had a 5-page back-up series in Thor 146-152, by Lee and Kirby. The first Inhumans series was a run in Amazing Adventures 1-10; the Inhumans stories comprised half of each book. The first few were by Jack Kirby, then Roy Thomas & Neal Adams. Uncollected. |

[From Marvel Comics: An amazing race of artifically spawned beings,
the Inhumans reside on Earth inside the fantastic domed city of Attilan.
Here as nowhere else, diversity and individuality are prized beyond compare.
Now, with humanity almost at their very doorstep, this peaceful alien realm
has fallen under vicious attack. And though the blasts raining upon their
kingdom are from without, the Inhumans are about to discover that their
greatest enemy... lies within!] |

Fantastic Four/Inhumans (4-issue mini; for complete contents, see under FF). |
| Volume 4 (2003) |
| Series ran 12 issues. The first trade was solicited, then cancelled, then resolicited as a Marvel Age digestthe first to be printed on good paper. One hopes the concluding digest Volume 2 is forthcoming. |
1 Culture Shock (Digest; 1-6; w Sean McKeever; a Matthew Clark).
[From Marvel Comics: Theyre just ordinary exchange students
from a far-off land, here to learn about our culture - except their home
is a mysterious city on the moon and they each possess fabulous, exotic
abilities and appearances. The product of experiments on humanity by an
alien culture millennia ago, the Inhumans are a race governed by the laws
of genetics. Here as nowhere else, diversity and individuality are prized
beyond compare. The Inhumans have flourished in isolation from humanity
within their island kingdom of Attilan on the surface of the moon, but what
happens when their king decides to send some of his subjects to Earth to
learn about humans? Will they be able to integrate into human culture? More
important, will they even try? The next generation of Inhumans star in this
atmospheric new ensemble drama.] Old Book of the Week 3/22/06: Possibly the forgotten gem of Marvel's digest program, this is the first one to be printed on good paper (early Runaways digests in particular suffers from having dark, subtle colors printed on newsprint). The story is effectively Inhumans: The Next Generation, as a group of Inhuman kids are sent to Earth as exchange students cum ambassadors. It's fun stuff from Sean McKeever, with great art by Matthew Clark; sadly, the second half has not yet been collected (are you listening, Jennifer Grünwald? Nag nag nag!). If you can track it down, check it out. |
