Grimjack

First Comics (series)/IDW (trades). Written by John Ostrander and drawn by Timothy Truman unless otherwise noted.

First Comics series
Legend of Grimjack 1 (Grimjack stories from Starslayer 10-18). [From IDW: IDW brings you the entire GrimJack saga, in order, starting off with the classic stories from First Comics’ Starslayer, issues 10 through 18. Written and drawn by creators John Ostrander and Timothy Truman, this initial volume concludes with the 28-page crossover with Mike Grell’s famed swashbuckler, Starslayer. Ostrander and Truman provide eight entirely new pages, plus unpublished art, bizarrely charming introductions, and a painted cover from Truman. This is where Cynosure begins!]
Legend of Grimjack 2 (1-7). [From IDW: IDW continues their re-presentation of the entire GrimJack saga, in order. This second volume contains the first seven classic issues of First Comics' GrimJack, written and drawn by creators John Ostrander and Timothy Truman. And as with every volume, this one will feature additional material in the form of character sketches, unreleased artwork and more.]
Legend of Grimjack 3 (8-14). [From IDW: Where else can you study at the inter-dimensional University of Cynosure, take a bunch of Uzis to the wild, wild West and get it on with Major Lash and his Lawkillers? Timothy Truman and John Ostrander proudly represent issues eight through 14 of GrimJack, the original series, all under a brand-new hot cover painting from ol' Timbo!] Book of the Week 8/3/05: Grimjack, written by John Ostrander and drawn by Timothy Truman (both too absent from comics in recent years), was a forerunner of the girm and gritty comics that would flood the market a few years later. Set in Cynosure, a city connected to all alternate realities, Grimjack is a private detective (or gun for hire) with a dark past and a disturbing (to him, at least) penchant for doing the right thing. Dark, violent, and witty, on re-reading these collections for the first time in 20 years, I am impressed with how well they hold up. And as always for IDW, the production values are refeence quality.
Legend of Grimjack 4 (15-21; a Timothy Truman, Tom Sutton, Steve Erwin). [From IDW: IDW continues its re-presentation of the entire First Comics GrimJack saga, in order. This fourth volume delves deeper into what it means to be GrimJack and survive--hell, profit--in the insane city of Cynosure. Written and drawn by creators John Ostrander and Timothy Truman.]
Legend of Grimjack 5 (22-30; a Timothy Truman, Tom Sutton, Doug McManus, Doug Rice).
Legend of Grimjack 6 (31-37; a Tom Mandrake).
Legend of Grimjack 7 (38-46; a Tom Mandrake).
Legend of Grimjack 8 (47-54; a Tom Mandrake).
