The Crow (new edition by Pocket Books; w & a James O'Barr). [From Pocket Books: This is the story of Eric and Shelly, engaged to be married, who encounter a car full of evil on a lonely road. They both die horrible deaths, but somehow Eric is allowed to come back to act as a black-clad, clown-faced, avenging angel...The Crow.]
OGNs
Dead Time (w John Wagner; a Alex Maleev). [An epic tale of love and revenge from beyond the grave, J. O'Barr's The Crow has been the basis for two blockbuster films. O'Barr returned to the world of the Crow for the first time since the original graphic novel when he created Dead Time with writer John Wagner and artist Alexander Maleev.]
Flesh & Blood (new edition by Dark Horse; w James Vance; a Alex Maleev). [From Dark Horse Comics: Dedicated readers have long known that the medium of comics and graphic novels isn't all about caped superheroes. In fact, the combination of words and pictures can be the perfect vehicle for telling all kinds of stories. This collection of short stories illustrates, quite literally, the effectiveness of the medium for telling the most personal of stories -- the autobiography -- and does so by showcasing some of the first published autobiographical stories from living-legend artists, mainstream greats, and young "indie" up-and-comers.]
Wild Justice (3-issue mini; w Jerry Prosser; a Charlie Adlard). [Michael Korby is murdered along with his wife Jan while their car is being hijacked. The murderers are two young punks who just wanted Michael's car, but end up killing Michael and Jan. But it is also about one of the punks, named Darryl, who is in a way a victim, as he does regret the killing, he even has nightmares about it. This one is quite radically different than the others, as the reader is presented with another view, that of the killer. Also, this is the first comic that features two crows.]
Waking Nightmares (4-issue mini; w Christopher Golden; a Phil Hester & Ande Parks). [Mark Leung was a cop in Chinatown until he and his wife were brutally killed and his daughters kidnapped. Now he is the Crow, and he stalks New York's mean streets seeking his murderers and trying to save his daughters from the clutches of a child pornography ring. Det. Caitlin Murphy, his former partner, is following Mark's bloody trail of vengeance, and his daughters are dreaming dark dreams of the crow and their dead father as he battles criminals and even the dark spirit who has resurrected him to reach their side.]
Series
1 Vengeance (Image Comics; 1-3, 5-6; w Jon J Muth; a Jamie Tolagson & Paul Lee). [From Image Comics: When Eric Draven's life is ended by a street gang, no one has any idea that it will lead to his resurrection as The Crow--least of all, those who killed him. But as each of his murderers is brutally killed, they learn that Eric Draven has had his soul wrapped in the supernatural cloak of The Crow, giving him the power to wreak vengeance most victims only dream about. Jon Muth's thoughtful and poignant story about the injustices of the world force the reader to decide if vengeance is really the right solution to any problem.]
2 Evil Beyond Reach (4, 7-10; w Jon J. Muth, John Kuramoto; a Tommy Lee Edwards, Michael Gaydos, Paul Lee). [From Image Comics: More of the stark world of The Crow is revealed and collected in this second volume. The tale of The Crow's vengeance unfurls to create a series of underlying sub plots from the worlds of writer Jon J. Muth. Artists Paul Lee and Michael Gaydos combine with the coloring of Mark Nicholas to show The Crow in a stirring light that has never been shown before.]
